In February of 2006 while pastoring in Florida, the Holy Spirit began speaking to Pastor Mark about moving to Athens, Texas to start a church. After a time of resistance, Pastor Mark had a dream in which God told him that if he would move to Athens, the Lord would bless the church with a tenth. Trusting in the Lord’s provision, Life Fellowship began its journey on Apri l9, 2006 with less than 20 people in attendance at the East Texas Arboretum.

Since the beginning, Life Fellowship has been committed to the life-giving message of the Gospel, to freedom and joy in worship, and to building relationships with each other and God.

God has indeed blessed us. As of 2018, over 900 people worship each weekend on our 100-acre campus, just west of Athens on HWY 175. Pastor Mark says that he should have asked the Lord “A tenth of what?” because God continues to expand our influence beyond the city of Athens.
